Ice Bar: A Must Do for Winter

If you are looking for a cool bar, find the nearest Ice Bar.  Many feature a full size bar carved in ice along with ice sculptures which may be used for tables and seating.  Bigger ice bars are within ice structures and include glasses and even stairs made from ice.  The most popular drinks are often ice-cold vodka shots or cocktails but most offer a menu of winter themed specialty drinks.

The ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi Sweden claims to have made the first Ice Bar in 1994.  Their ICEBAR  is in an ice dome so the walls are ice, the furniture is ice, the glasses are made of ice and there is a dance floor made of snow.  Each year the theme and design changes so no bar is like the previous one.

While Ice Bars are traditionally found in colder climates, you’ll find the largest permanent ICEBAR in Orlando Florida made from over 70 tons of hand-carved ice.  The entrance to the ICEBAR is through their Fire Lounge where Ice Princesses greet you at the door and provide you with thermal coats and gloves.  They offer a number of perfectly chilled cocktails served in a custom carved ice glass.  When guests have had enough cool, they can always move into the Fire Lounge to continue their night for DJ dancing.

When planning your next ski trip, include a visit to an Ice Bar.
